AUDITION NOTICE

BIG, the musical  and Into The Woods

Auditions for Hale Centre Theatre’s productions of “BIG, the musical” by John Weidman, David Shire & Richard Maltby, Jr. AND “Into The Woods” by Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine, will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008  with Youth auditions beginning at 9:00 a.m and Adult auditions beginning at 11:00 a.m.  These auditions will be by appointment only, at Hale Centre Theatre, 3333 S. Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City, UT.  BIG, the musical will be directed by John Sweeney; Into The Woods will be directed by Jennifer Parker Hohl, with musical direction for both by Kelly DeHaan, and choreography by Marilyn May Montgomery.  “BIG, the musical”  will run from July 29, 2008 through September 20, 2008 and “Into The Woods” will run from October 1, 2008 through November 29, 2008.

All auditioners may audition for either or both shows.  All roles are open and will be double cast.  Needed are passionate actors to play character roles.

Needed for BIG, the musical are boys & girls ages 13-18, men ages mid 20's to mid 40's and women ages 20 to mid 40's.  Character Descriptions are available on our website.

Needed for Into The Woods are men & boys ages 15 & older, women & girls ages 16 & older.  Character Descriptions are available on our website.

All auditioners need to come prepared with 16 bars of an entertaining song in the style of the show.  An accompanist will be provided.  Please, no taped music or minus tracks.  Dance auditions will be held at call backs.

The director’s have asked each auditioner to bring a current photo and updated resume.   Call backs  will be by invitation only.   All cast members are paid.  Character Descriptions and audition packets will be available on our website www.halecentretheatre.org
